Advantages of Being a Passenger in a Legally Registered Lane Towne Car
The Lane Towne Car Difference
Why is there such a difference between Houston Taxi and most taxi companies?
"Follow The Money"... the oldest business reason in the world. Taxi companies make their money by renting or selling cars to independent contractor drivers. The taxi company makes the same amount daily regardless of the number of runs the driver makes. The rider is an afterthought and a marketing device to sell and/or rent cars. The only source of income for Houston Taxi is the establishment and the retention of clients. Making sure clients have a great experience requires 100% of our energy. You are the boss! You pay our salaries and your referrals are our bread & butter!

Non-smoking!
Licensing
All Lane Towne Car Chauffeurs are required to have a clean drivers license for both Texas and driving commercial vehicles: NO SUSPENSIONS AND NO REVOKES. This is standard in the state of Texas, but we go the extra mile and insist on a Houston Limousine License, which requires a five year background check, a physical and drug test. We also require IAH TSA Security Badge, and a Hobby TSA Security Badge, which is a Homeland Security Historical Background Check.
Knowledge
Lane Towne Car Chauffeurs must have a thorough knowledge of the cruise routes in local and surrounding areas and be a skilled map reader. Your Chauffeur will be at your address at least ten minutes before scheduled time to assure an on time arrival. Your Chauffeur will call Lane Towne Car's main office when they pick you up and after they have delivered you to your destination. To avoid unexpected traffic situations, the dispatcher and Chauffer are in constant contact and are regularly checking flight updates.
Age Requirements for a Chauffeur
To operate a taxi in Texas, the driver only has to be 18 years of age. I'm sure you remember how you drove just two years after receiving your drivers license. Lane Towne Car believe it is important for their drivers to have more driving experience, not only for our clients safety but their safety also. All drivers must be at least 25 years old.
Training
Although it is not required by the State of Texas, all Lane Towne Car Chauffeurs must complete a defensive driving course, pass a National Limousine Association training course, and then ride with one of our seasoned professional Chauffeurs.
Safety
Most taxi services in Texas operate their vehicles according to the standard the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). The City of Houston requires the standard TXDOT inspection plus one city inspection in December. Lane Towne Car vehicles are daily and continually inspected by their drivers. Inspections are completed by the same mechanic each time they are brought in for monthly maintenance.
Here at Lane Limousine, we care about the safety and well-being of our clients. Lane Town Car has a $750K/$750K/$750K liability limit, while most limousine companies only provide $250K/$500K/$100K, which the City of Houston requires. A taxi only requires $20K/$40K/$15K to operate in the State of Texas.

On-time Guaranteed Arrival
Your time is just as important to us as it is to you. When you arrange a time to be picked up, we respect and honor that request. If you choose to travel to your destination via taxi in the state of Texas, there are no requirements for being on time. If we are picking you up from the airport, we continually monitor your flight to guarantee we are there as soon as you walk off the plane. Being on time is common courtesy, and we offer no less. Lane Limo's on time guaranteed service is backed by our internal procedures and a relationship with trusted affiliates. If we fail to arrive on time and are 15 minutes late, the ride is on us.
